Communication is the Essential Foundation for All Our Lives.
Through communication, we develop relationships and learn about the world. We socialise, work, participate and contribute to our communities and in society as a whole.
A staggering one in ten children in the UK struggle to develop essential communication skills.
That’s 1.2 million children who find it hard to understand what people are saying to them and who may have extreme difficulty in conveying their thoughts and feelings. Without the right help, at the right time, they will be left out and left behind.
I CAN’s mission is to create a world where all children have the communication skills to be all they can be. This is a massive undertaking. To make this a reality for so many children we need the help and commitment of every sector of society. The corporate sector has a crucial role to play.
