This is a package designed for experienced trainers to use to provide collaborative training for teachers and speech and language therapists, working with children and young people with SLCN. The CD-Rom contains all the materials that a trainer would need to deliver the training to course participants and this includes:
- Notes for Tutors
- Notes for Participants
- Handouts and resources
- PowerPoint Presentation Slides
The JPDF training covers five units: What is language; language development; speech, language and communication needs (SLCN); how SLCN affect access to the curriculum and strategies for meeting the SLCN of children. This amounts to around 12 hours’ training which can be covered as two days’ training or over 5 shorter sessions.
The CD Rom is designed to support a trainer to deliver the JPDF training and is not a self-study tool for those wishing to find out more about speech, language and communication.
This training package has been mapped using the Speech, Language and Communication Framework (SLCF) and is mainly focused at skills and knowledge at the Enhanced Stage of the SLCF (for more information about the SLCF, visit www.thecommunicationtrust.org.uk).
