Consultancy

I CAN has a history of providing successful services to staff and volunteers in schools. We have developed these services, and established new ones, in order to increase the capacity of local service providers to successfully include more pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), in line with the national agenda.

The Consultancy service provides:

• Independent assessment, audit, advice and guidance for statutory, voluntary and commercial sectors. It focuses on developing the communication skills of all children and ensures those finding communication hard have the expert help they need;.
• Bespoke and tailored responses to the needs of individuals, schools, corporate and voluntary organisations, commissioning bodies, Local Authorities, etc.
• Problem-solving consultancy, advice and service development.
• Reviews of existing practice and service arrangements.
• Bespoke training packages, both design and delivery.
• Project design, implementation and management.
• Coaching to support staff development.
• UK-wide dissemination of I CAN’s experience, skills, information and research.
  

I CAN is able to be flexible in the services it delivers, in order to meet local requirements and complement existing provision. Following full discussion with you a brief and costings are agreed, and personnel for the work identified, drawing from our base of expertise in SCLN and collaborative working developed in our mainstream and special school programmes across the UK.
