28 June 2006 - Procter & Gamble grant to get kids talking
Pre-school children in North Tyneside will benefit from a new programme of I CAN training for early years professionals made possible thanks to a major grant from Procter & Gamble. The £2500 grant from P&G's fund with the Community Foundation will help I CAN, the charity that helps children communicate, to deliver training for 135 North Tyneside Local Education Authority staff to help them support children's communication development during the crucial early years.

On Tuesday 20th June Little Leap, the mascot of LeapFrog Toys, the UK’s number one pre-school toy manufacturer, hopped along to Party in the Park at Dartford Central Park. The Party in the Park was celebrating Shaw Start Month, an initiative which is centered upon providing integrated services including education, care, family support and health services for both children and parents.
18 June 2006 - Friends Join 50-Strong Team in Walk to Raise Money for I CAN
On Sunday June 18 good friends Jenny Sprott and Wendy Brooks hit the pavement as part of the Great Scottish Walk for I CAN - a charity close to their hearts. The friends were part of a 50-strong team that raised money for I CAN, the charity that helps children communicate, by taking part in the annual 12 mile walk. I CAN has one of the largest charity teams with Chief Executive Virginia Beardshaw leading the charge.
15 June 2006 - Procter and Gamble Volunteer to Help I CAN's Meath School
A team of 12 Procter and Gamble employees spent an afternoon volunteering at I CAN’s Meath School on June 15 to clear the way for an open air theatre. The afternoon of land clearing, painting, hedge-trimming and other odd jobs formed part of a team-building exercise for P&G’s Pampers brand team.

The Vodafone UK Foundation announced funding of around £113,000 for a study centre to support an innovative and integrated educational scheme for young people with severe speech, language and communication difficulties.
