Meath School, Ottershaw (pupil age range: 5- 11 years)
Full-Time, Permanent contract
Start Date:  4 September 2017/ ASAP
Salary: MPS + SEN allowance depending on experience and qualifications 

Meath School is an outstanding day and residential primary school for up to 75 learners with speech, language and communication needs including Asperger’s Syndrome. (www.meathschool.org.uk)

We are seeking an excellent classroom Teacher with a proven track-record to provide high quality teaching to a class of children with speech, language and communication disability, many with additional problems, within the age range of 5 – 11 years, and to assist and support the school in its overall development. No formal line management responsibilities, but the post holder will have supervision of Learning Support Assistant(s) in respect of their day to day duties within their classroom. 

The successful candidate will:

• provide a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum, following the National Curriculum as appropriate and taking account of any other provisions of Education Acts currently in force.
• plan, prepare, organise and teach lessons for the class(es) allocated to a high standard.
• organise the classroom, its resources and displays to provide a stimulating and effective interactive learning environment.
• be involved in curriculum development and planning and be responsible for a specific curriculum area(s) as directed by the Deputy HeadTeacher /Assistant Headteacher.
• learn, use and remain proficient at Signed Supported English (in – house training also provided).
