Speech & Language Therapy Assistant

Permanent, Full-time post (35 hours per week)
Annual Salary Range: £15,610.20 - £17,246 per annum inclusive of all allowances, depending on experience

We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic to help children to communicate to join our friendly team.  As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant you will enjoy the chance to work within a well-resourced department with a small but complex caseload, where intensive therapy with pupils is encouraged, and to support the Speech and Language Therapists in school in meeting the speech and language needs of pupils with severe and complex speech, language and communication difficulties.   You will have good literacy skills and competent IT skills. If you believe you can help our children to achieve their potential at school, at home and in their communities and are looking for a fresh challenge then this role may be just what you are looking for. 

I CAN’s Meath school is a three times outstanding special school committed to the highest quality integrated education, therapy and care.  You will assist Speech and Language Therapists in providing individual and group therapy, undertake direct work with children under the direction of speech and language therapists and offer administrative support to therapists.  You will work collaboratively as part of strong and supportive multi-disciplinary team of teachers, therapists, learning support assistants and care officers.  Meath School is a non-maintained day and residential school for pupils aged between 5 – 11 years, who have severe and complex speech, language and communication difficulties (including Asperger’s Syndrome) with associated learning and/or behavioural difficulties.

You will receive a comprehensive induction programme, excellent training, support from an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, effective supervision and a range of opportunities for CPD.
