Learning Support Assistant

Meath School, Ottershaw, Nr Woking, Surrey
£15,610 to £17,246 per annum (including fringe London weighting allowance, depending on experience)
Full-time (35 hours per week), Temporary contract to 29.03.2018 (possibility of extension)

For a child with speech, language and communication difficulties, school can be a difficult place. At Meath special school, we work with children aged 5 to 11 to recognise these needs and provide therapy and education to meet them. Our multi-disciplinary teams aim to give them the same opportunities as other children, and turn their frustration to confidence.

You’ll provide much needed classroom and teaching support, assisting in all educational activities involving communication, curriculum, social skills, and behaviour management.  You’ll also make valuable contributions to planning, and to the assessment of pupil progress.

It’s a role that requires the ability to communicate effectively with children and families as well as your colleagues. You will already have experience of working with primary pupils in a school setting, with experience of SEN.  You’ll also need basic literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. Above all your flexible, positive attitude will shine through as will your desire to develop our outstanding school.

We will give you lots of training and support – don’t worry!
