Primary Talk has been piloted in Somerset, Bradford and Walsall between January 2008 and March 2009.
In Somerset the Regional Advisor, Moira Pook, Speech and Language Therapist and Teacher writes "Many schools find that Primary Talk reminds them of examples of good practice that have fallen away in recent years which are easily reinstated now." Read her latest report on the pilot in Somerset.

Noreen Hussain, a teacher and Primary Talk regional advisor in Bradford reports that a Headteacher in Bradford said "Primary Talk is a tool to support children's learning." Read about the Bradford pilot.
Carla Solvason, Teacher and Regional Advisor in Walsall received this comment from a school “Primary Talk has proved an ideal support for those entering school with little or no English.” Read about the pilot in Walsall.
- In Somerset 31 schools have been involved in the pilot; 25 at Supportive Level, 5 at the Enhanced Level and 1 at the Specialist Level.
- In Walsall 22 schools are involved; 16 at Supportive Level and 6 at Enhanced.
- In Bradford the pilot involves 27 schools; 21 at Supportive Level and 6 at Enhanced Level.
- The pilot includes the two I CAN Schools working towards accreditation at the Specialist Level.
- Currently 13 accreditations have been carried out – 6 at Supportive level, 6 at Enhanced, 1 at Specialist Level.
