What does Early Talk look like?

Early Talk works at three levels which can be purchased as a whole or individually by local authorities, clusters of settings, children’s centres or individual settings.
What does it do?
- Supporting communication/universal

Creates communication supportive environments and develops staff skilled in speech, language and communication.

Supports achievement of EYFS CLL targets; GIRFEC outcomes and progression through the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland.
- Targeted / Enhanced

Builds on universal and helps settings to develop services and staff skills to provide additional support to children who have difficulties with speech, language and communication.

Supports inclusion goals and work on narrowing the gap.
- Specialist
Helps the development of specialist provision for settings with children with long-term, severe and complex speech, language and communication needs.
