Enhancing Communication
|
This training is aimed at practitioners who have some knowledge of speech and language development and an awareness of speech and language difficulties.
It is a two-day or five twilight sessions course and should provide an in-depth knowledge of speech and language development and difficulties; provide an SEN context for children with SLCN (speech, language and communication needs); consider curricular impacts of SLCN and provide strategies for supporting children with SLCN within the early years curriculum. The taught component is followed up with a guided learning workbook which individual practitioners are expected to complete.
Practitioners can opt to have their workbooks assessed against a set of criteria which could allow them to achieve a CACHE endorsement. At the enhancing communication level practitioners can aim to achieve a level 3 or 4 CACHE endorsement, depending on the level of detail. Please contact your designated Early Talk coordinator for more details.
