How to put forward your portfolio of evidence – using the accreditation templates.
The Portfolio Evidence which you submit to the accreditor/s is an important part of the accreditation process. The written information provided in your accreditation portfolio will give the accreditor/s insight into the way your service/setting works and will help them organise their visit so that it is as efficient as possible. Your accreditation portfolio will need to include various elements such as photocopied documents, written answers and, perhaps, photographs. It is important that you observe confidentiality at all times – do not include names of children and if you submit photographs ensure that you have obtained written permission from parents/carers.
You can organise your accreditation portfolio in a number of ways. There are templates available (follow the links below) for you to use. These templates are very easy to use – you can either work on one framework template at a time or save the complete document to your computer. You will only be able to enter text into the shaded areas of the table and please use the space bar to ‘check’ the boxes when appropriate. Make sure that you save the document each time you add to it and update the title, perhaps use the date so you know when you last worked on it (for example, ‘Supportive – Framework A 25 Sept’). These templates are not comprehensive reproductions of the accreditation standards. You must refer to the complete standards when using these templates. Some standards will be observed by the accreditor/s and this has been indicated on the templates.
If you do not wish to use these templates, photocopy the standards in the folder or download and print these from the website. Make sure that the information you submit is well organised and easy to read so that you give the fullest picture of your service/setting to the accreditor/s. Ensure that you put a clear title page on your portfolio with name/s, address/es and contact details. If you need any additional advice or support please contact your local Early Talk link person.
