Payroll Giving
Also known as Give As You Earn, payroll giving is the most effective way to donate to I CAN, as the donation is taken from your pay before tax is deducted.
Here’s how it works: You give a fixed amount from your salary each month. For example, if you donate £10, only £8 comes out of your salary and the Inland Revenue pays the rest. This means it’s cheaper for you to give.
For example:
Cost to you (basic rate taxpayer) |
Cost to you (higher rate taxpayer) |
Your donation (gross payroll amount) |
| £3.90 |
£3.00 |
£5 |
| £7.80 |
£6.00 |
£10 |
| £15.60 |
£12.00 |
£20 |
