Early Talk

Welcome to Early Talk Online.

I CAN’s Early Talk programme supports the communication development of all young children across the UK and especially those with speech, language and communication needs.

It does this by working in partnership with children’s services, including Local Authorities and Speech and Language Therapy departments to improve the knowledge and skills of Early Years practitioners working in a range of settings including private, voluntary, independent and maintained. Early Talk is also suitable for childminders so that they can demonstrate good practice in relation to supporting young children’s communication development.

If you are interested in developing skills or recognising existing good practice in an early years setting you can purchase appropriate elements of the Early Talk programme at a not-for-profit rate. This will enable you to focus on young children’s communication skills, which are central to all aspects of learning, whilst also working towards a national quality assurance certificate.
