Until March 2009 Early Talk was a voluntary funded project. This meant that Local Authorities who were Early Talk partners were not charged for Early Talk and its materials and were able to carry out accreditations of early year settings as part of the project agreement.
From March 2009 Early Talk will be charged at a not for profit rate. This means that Local Authorities can no longer carry out Early Talk accreditations unless they have purchased a licence.
What does this mean for settings who were accredited locally through an Early Talk partnership?
I CAN has agreed that those settings who were accredited before the end of March 2009 will have a valid accreditation for three years subject to a local interim review on the two anniversaries following their success.
At the end of the third year the accreditation will expire. At that point if your local authority has purchased a licence to accredit you can contact them to renew your accreditation. If your local authority has not purchased a licence you can purchase re-accreditation through I CAN. Prices are available on request.
If you have any queries about Early Talk accreditation or training please contact us at earlytalk@ican.org.uk
Accreditation takes place at three levels:
