The Communication Trust Conference - Developing a workforce to support speech, language and communication for all children

The Every Child Matters: Change for Children programme identifies the need for a skilled, confident and flexible workforce to achieve its aims of improved outcomes for all children. This conference aims to provide an opportunity to explore the issue of workforce development in the context of speech, language and communication (SLC) for all children.

Delegates should have a workforce development responsibility across early years, schools, and youth and health.

Delegates will get a first look at the new Speech, Language and Communication Framework (SLCF).  They will hear information on The Bercow review interim report into SLC and examples of successful workforce development programmes that help develop SLC skills in all children.

I CAN Social Exclusion Conference
Wednesday 28th November 2007 

Lord Ramsbotham delivered a rousing keynote speech to over 350 delegates at the I CAN Language and Social Exclusion conference this week, kicking off what proved to be an extremely exciting and thought-provoking day. 

Bringing together experts from the fields of social exclusion and speech, language and communication, the programme provided valuable information and advice through insightful plenary sessions and keynote speeches. 

In every workshop, examples of successful projects and best practise case studies ensured that delegates not only explored the links between communication and social exclusion but were also signposted towards ways in which they an help make a difference.
