About I CAN's Chatterbox Challenge

I CAN’s Chatterbox Challenge, supported by Openreach, and now in its 9th year, is an annual sponsored event that gets children singing and chattering throughout the UK.

We are very proud that last year we had 100% positive feedback, we hope that you will join us in 2010.

Designed by professionals to make learning fun

All of the minibeast and the garden themed activities in the 2010 pack have been developed by teachers and speech and language therapists so that children can:

• Build vocabulary
• Improve listening and learning skills
• Practice numeracy
• Encourage conversation

The primary aged activities support the National Curriculum and (QCA) objectives for speaking and listening.

The activities have also been designed to work as an assembly or performance – why not put on a bit of a show for the rest of the school or the parents at your nursery or children’s club.

Whether singing and signing nursery rhymes and songs or performing specially commissioned drama activities and games, the Chatterbox Challenge is unique for being fun, challenging and educational.

The Chatterbox Challenge is a fun packed celebration of chattering that raises money for children throughout the UK who struggle with communication.

One in ten children in the UK start school with a speech, language or communication need, please join in and help make a difference.

2009 Participant,

“We took part in Chatterbox Challenge 2009, it was out most successful sponsored event we have held.  The children really enjoyed singing the songs and we found that those with speech and language difficulties enjoyed it most, really improving confidence and self esteem.  Thank you.”
