Dawn House School

I CAN's Dawn House School provides intensive and specialist support for children and young people aged 5 -19 years who have severe speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) which prevent them from realising their full potential intellectually, academically and socially. Pupils receive the integrated therapy and education that they need, ensuring they receive full access to the national curriculum (pre 16) and an enriched curriculum that supports the transition to adulthood  (post 16).

Places at Dawn House School are largely funded via Local Authorities, but payment by families will be considered.

Please use the menu on the left hand side of the page to navigate through the site. Dawn House School parents can access Schoolgates here.

On pathway 2, students access vocational qualifications through a work placement , which is supported by staff from Dawn House
Pathway three offers a small number of vocational courses on the Dawn House Site.
In addition, all students, whichever pathway they are following access literacy , numeracy and lifeskills work at the school.
Our model  for Speech language and other therapies continues throughout the FE provision.
Students can access the FE department for one to three years and many young people then move successfully on to their local mainstream FE provision, to higher education or to employment.
