Accreditation
I CAN Early Talk aims to help services and settings improve the way in which they support the communication development of all children. This is done through a quality assurance, accreditation scheme which is available at three levels to reflect the specialisation of the service or setting being accredited. To be awarded accredited status at any level, services and settings must demonstrate that they fulfil the standards of good practice endorsed by I CAN.
The process of accreditation is positive and rewarding for staff as it helps them promote and develop quality as well as assuring purchasers, providers and users of services of the quality of care the children receive. I CAN accreditation is valid for three years and is reviewed annually.
There are three different levels of accreditation available which reflect the skills and specialisation of the setting or service:
